We also asked people's opinions whether they favoured an afternoon or evening meeting and the results were about even.

Our July demonstration was well attended with some visitors coming along after seeing us during Hamble Week. Hopefully this will result in some new members.

It was agreed that this was a good promotion exercise and we plan another in October at the Upper Hamble Country Park.

Hamble-le-Rice Flower Club

This year the Committee decided to take a stand on the first  Saturday of Hamble Week to help promote the Club.
We were located in a tent overlooking the river on a beautiful sunny day and able to watch a lot of the activities on the water at the same time. In the tent we had on show various styles of flower arrangements, small hand-tied bouquets and a selection of bottle bouquets and goods on the sales table.
Our new Chairman helped children to make small arrangements for their Mothers and Grannies. This also proved very popular with young teenage boys who queued to make them for their girlfriends. Over 100 of these arrangements were made. Requests were made to buy some arrangements and hand-tied bouquets and popular items from the sales table were the bottle bouquet rings.
